Why I Founded Lundquist Capital LLC
A personal note from founder and owner, Kevin P. Lundquist.
Building Something That Lasts
Lundquist Capital LLC started with a simple but powerful idea: build something that lasts. Not a single venture. Not a short-term project. But a long-term structure—a foundation—capable of supporting the business endeavors my family would create over time.
That vision did not appear overnight. It came from years of experience across military service, federal logistics, operations, and life as a husband and father. Over time, the lessons from those chapters formed a philosophy: if you want something to endure, you must design it with intention.
This is the story of why Lundquist Capital LLC exists, and what it represents.
A Foundation Built on Service
Before I ever considered entrepreneurship, I served in the U.S. Army. Those years shaped the core principles that define how I lead today:
- Discipline matters more than motivation.
- Clarity prevents mistakes that only show up months later.
- Systems keep people safe and operations effective.
- Stewardship is a responsibility, not a suggestion.
When the mission is real and the stakes are high, you learn quickly that shortcuts cost more than the work ever will. That belief followed me into civilian federal service, where I continued supporting complex, high-demand logistical environments. I learned how to build teams, structure processes, and make decisions that stood the test of uncertainty.
This shaped how I saw business—not as a gamble, but as a structure that deserves discipline.
The Need for a Unified Structure
Like most families, we experimented with different business ideas over the years. Some were simple projects; others were long-term opportunities that deserved real investment. But I realized something essential: without structure, opportunity becomes scattered.
I didn’t want several disconnected ventures—and certainly not a trail of one-off projects with no continuity. What I wanted was a centralized, disciplined, long-term holdings company:
- something that could own multiple ventures,
- something that could preserve documentation, processes, and decisions,
- something that could grow responsibly,
- something that could be handed down, not thrown away.
Lundquist Capital LLC became that structure—our family’s home for future business.
A Veteran-Led Approach to Business
My military background didn’t just influence the company—it defined it.
At Lundquist Capital LLC, we lead with:
- Discipline: We make decisions methodically, supported by real data and realistic assessments.
- Structure: Every venture lives inside a documented framework. Even small ideas deserve clarity.
- Operational Excellence: Systems matter. Standards matter. Good habits matter.
- Generational Thinking: We don’t build for the next month—we build for the next decade.
These aren’t just business philosophies—they are family values.
Why a Holdings Company?
A holdings company provides advantages that fit our goals:
- Stability: Unified ownership, clear governance, and structural protection.
- Scalability: New ventures can be added cleanly without rewriting the foundation.
- Separation: Each project has its own identity and purpose, but all benefit from shared oversight.
- Stewardship: A legacy that can be improved, expanded, and eventually transferred.
This approach transforms business from a hustle into a long-term asset.
Creating a Legacy, Not Just Income
For me, Lundquist Capital LLC is more than a business entity—it is a commitment:
- to disciplined growth,
- to ethical leadership,
- to generational value creation,
- to leaving systems better than I found them.
I founded this company so my family would always have a structure that supports their future, regardless of how industries evolve or which opportunities they pursue.
This isn’t about getting rich quickly. It’s about building something durable— something meaningful—something that reflects the values I learned through service and continue to carry forward.
Looking Ahead
Lundquist Capital LLC will continue expanding into ventures that align with our philosophy of discipline, long-term thinking, and operational excellence. The mission is simple: build a company that stands the test of time.
And we’re just getting started.
